LivIDEA is an open, grass-roots initiative bringing the maker spirit to research at the University of Liverpool.
We started out as a few researchers with a small grant from the School of Physical Sciences to carry out “hive learning” of Arduino, 3D printing and design. We have grown to a dedicated space with 3D printers, a laser cutter, and tools. We provide an open access, inclusive environment for anyone that wants to turn their ideas into reality.
From scientific prototypes, to models of cutting edge materials or just 3D printing board games, you can build it!
We hold regular training events alongside the coding initiative HiPy. Together we are driving an expanding, passionate community dedicated to creative solutions for real problems.
