NFC Is Magic – with Tanya Fish

Using NFC to add interactivity to your projects (aka NFC is Magic) Learn some of the principles of NFC while making three projects to take home a receiver coil from scratch, an interactive wearable, and a memory tote. No prior experience is necessary for the workshop, we want you to try something new! Suitable for over 13’s (under 13’s will need parental supervision due to download and use of phone apps). Please bring your smartphone if you have one.

About Tanya: Tanya Fish is (amongst other things) an Associate Lecturer in Interactive Technology, an interactive media artist, resource designer, creative, and cross-disciplinary technologist with a diverse academic background. She is primarily interested in transdisciplinary collaborations between art, design and computing, and works as Head of Outreach and Education at the technology manufacturers, Pimoroni Ltd. Tanya has experience internationally as a conference speaker, technology presenter and workshop lead, and has written for high profile publications such as Make magazine and Hackspace. She is currently working on several projects including kids conferences for the InfoSec and Open Source communities and high voltage artwork.
